Position: Historic Building Surveyor

- Contract Administration and reactive design to repair projects to historic buildings. Carrying out tender reports, writing contract particulars, managing contractors on site, chairing meetings, carrying out progress inspections, evaluating interim and final payment applications, writing and providing detailed drawing for contract instructions, negotiating and agreeing extensions of time and variations.
- Undertook quinquennial inspections, ad-hoc building surveys and detailed condition surveys to significant historic structures and buildings.
- Developing detailed design to the repair of churches and vernacular buildings across Cumbria and Durham. Producing specifications, drawings and contract documents for traditional tendering (delivering projects to RIBA design stage 5/6).
- Writing Design and Access Statements, Statements of Significance and Need, as well as Heritage Impact Assessments for faculty, Planning and Listed Building Consent applications, consulting with Historic England and the Lake District National Park as required.
- Carrying out design options appraisals to assess feasibility of conversion of historic buildings to both residential and commercial uses. Projects included the conversion to a typical Lakeland vernacular bank barn.
- Contributing to the writing Conservation Management Plan.
